Bio

Scott Taylor spent his summers in Beaufort, North Carolina, at the home of his great aunt, Ann Brown, long before the days of air conditioning or streetlights. Taylor graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1978 followed by three years with the Chapel Hill Newspaper.
In 1981 he accepted a job as photographer at the Duke University Marine Laboratory in Beaufort, and completed his Marine Lab career as Assistant Director of Communications in the summer of 2000. Taylor currently operates Scott Taylor Photography, Inc. at 214 Pollock Street in Beaufort, and teaches an occasional photography course.
His images of coastal
North Carolina can be seen in many local, state, regional and national magazines, publications, and galleries. Time permitting, he can be found plying the waters of coastal North Carolina on his small skiff, or trying his hand at surfing with his son David.
