I was doing a yacht shoot Tuesday morning in Beaufort, North Carolina. We left the airport in a helicopter and headed for the open ocean to meet the boat. As we passed the shoals just north and east of the Beaufort Inlet I looked down and saw this school of sharks. There must have been hundreds of them. It was amazing. The pilot said he sees them all the time.

My first thought after being amazed was, "that is where I kayak all the time!" Then I thought about how many times I have been in that water and never been bothered by a single shark. That is somewhat comforting.
